This poster was inspired by historical letterpress borders. The final design is a combination of laser cut pieces and Montana State's historic wood type. The purpose of this poster was to educate people about the importance of using native foilage to foster the local environments for creatures large and small.

In addition to using the sizeable collection of metal and wood type in Montana State University's letterpress studio, I also created laser cut pieces to create decorative and border elements.

The large pink ampersand behind the main wood type on the poster is larger than any wood type available and so I took a digital typeface and laser cut it out of chipboard and attached it (along with the border pieces also digitally designed) to a base mdf board to print.
